Grove Room is coming soon. This room features a private bath and French doors out on to the deck. It also features it’s own heat/air conditioning.
Currently, we are undergoing some modifications to get this room ready for rent. We expect it will be ready sometime around July, 2016. Pictures will be posted once it is ready for occupancy.
This will also be our only 1st floor rental available.
About the Grove Room
This room was not part of the original Beckwith Mansion. We believe it was part of the back porch and outdoor laundry area in the 1800s and into the 1900s. Then, somewhere around the 1920s, Cecil Hubbard closed off the outdoor summer kitchen creating the home’s kitchen, and added this bedroom on the north side of the kitchen.
The small bump-out, according to a newspaper article dated 1933, was the wood shed. Prior to the conversion, outdoor laundry and woodshed became the last bedroom to be added to the Beckwith Mansion.
The interior features reclaimed lumber for the walls and ceiling. This gives the room a warm rustic look. Then, somewhere around 2000, the previous owners added a French door on to the rear deck.
