Jurassic Movie

Jurassic Movie

Elizabethe and I went to see the new Jurassic Movie this morning.  Before I talk about the movie, I want to present a scenario we were presented with when we purchased our tickets.  The seats were all sold out except for 4:  1 in the front row, 2 in the back row, separated by two wheelchair spots, and one near the center of the theatre.  We were told if we purchased the 2 seats in the back row, and someone with a wheelchair came in with others in their party, we would have to relinquish our seats to them.

Humanity

The humanity in all of us says we are courteous and accommodating to those in wheelchairs.  But, how far should that go?

We purchased our tickets first.  Shouldn’t it be first-come/first-serve regardless of your mobility?

Of course, had we been bumped under those conditions I would have asked for refunds on our tickets, our refreshments AND two additional tickets to be used on a later date.  After all, we drove all the way to Victor to watch the movie.  I believe that to be a fair settlement given the theatre’s policy.

Or Is It?

Or is it the theatres policy?  Perhaps the employee misunderstands.  I bet the actual policy only applies if there are empty seats still available, and not on sold-out shows.
