Frys Electronics

Frys Electronics

I decided to visit Frys Electronics.  That can create serious damage to one’s bank account.  I managed to keep my spending under $50.

I purchased an 8 port gigabit hub for under $10.  Next, I found laptop cable locks for only $4.  My final purchase was a $25 inverter that is perfect for the Route 66 trip.

Mt. Diablo

Mt. Diablo was my next stop, but only after stopping to see if Jim Fidelibus was at his studio.  Forgot they are closed on Monday.

It is a beautiful day for a drive up Mt. Diablo.  It was crazy thought.  I was on the brakes the entire time to keep it under the speed limit, yet, bicycles were buzzing by doing 40mph and more.  As a result, I was passed by many cyclist.

Road Up Mt. Diablo

Fenton’s Ice Cream

Amber, Jason and girls met me at Fenton’s.  We were joined by Katrina, an old friend from the Bay Area.  I wanted Amber to take a picture of Katrina and me, but for some reason, she kept focusing on the background, and not us.  It was comical.  Finally, she got a good one (I put the camera in manual focus, zone focused and let her shoot.)

Fenton’s with KJ

This new Fenton’s is at the old Nut Tree.  They have redeveloped the old Nut Tree and it is very nice.

Play Ground

The old Nut Tree Playground has also been fixed up.  Payton LOVES the little marry-go-round.

The Merry-go-Round

The look on her face is precious.  She liked it more than she liked the ice cream.

The Gang of Girls

Mt. Diablo with John

After spending the morning on the phone with insurance companies, credit card companies and the rental car company, it was time for me to leave and meet up with John Kidd.  Elizabethe is staying another week, and about the time I was taking off, she was heading out with Tobreth to get one of the girls from school.

I wish I could spend more time with the girls.  They are sure sweet and fun to be around.

John and I went to Mt. Diablo and took a few pictures.  I told him all the things I have planned when he comes to visit us in New York.  I warned him that he better plan on spending 10 or more days and that I will keep him busy.

On the way home we stopped at Nations.  They don’t have all the different shake flavors any more.  Only chocolate, vanilla, coffee and strawberry shakes are sold now.  I was kind of hoping for a pineapple.  But, their burgers are still quite good.

The rental car check in went better than expected.  They agreed that you can’t tell that the car was hit.  But, better safe to report it, than sorry you didn’t.
